Decades of breeding came to an end with the sale of Panorama Poll Merino stud's ewe flock and ram lambs.

After a successful 30th on-property sale of unhoused rams in September, stud principal Frank Byrne offered the remaining stock via AuctionsPlus.

The Borung-based stud was being dispersed following the sale of the property.

The catalogue comprised 305 Poll Merino ewes and 50 ram lambs.

Mr Byrne said there was more than 60 years of breeding behind the flock.

He said he had started his own stud 40 years ago with 200 ewes from his father's Poll Merino flock that was started in 1956.

He said it was pleasing that many long-time ram clients made purchases.

Elders agent Kevin Thompson, Wycheproof, said sheep went to South Australia, the Riverina of NSW, and western and southern Victoria and local areas.

He said as many as five studs purchased sheep.

The top ewes was a pen of 15 ewe lambs, May 2019-drop, October-shorn, that sold for $370 a head.

A second line of 44 ewe lambs, same description, sold for $235.

Ewe hoggets, August-shorn, sold for $305, for a pen of 49.

Seventeen ewes, August/September 2018-drop, August-shorn, sold for $340.

A line of 43 ewes, 2.5-years-old, not station-mated (NSM), August-shorn, sold for $325.

A second lot of 54, same description, sold for $290.

Ewes aged 4.5-years-old, NSM, August-shorn, sold for $295 for 33, while 34 5.5-year-old ewes made $255.

An offering of 6.5 and 7.5-year-old ewes, NSM, made $185.

Top of the May 2019-drop ram lambs was $950 a head for seven.

June-drop ram lambs sold to $390.
