Victoria's east fared best when it came to the weekend's rainfall but the Bureau of Meteorology has predicted follow up falls, during the coming few days.
BoM senior meteorologist Tom Delamotte said there were widespread falls across Victoria over the weekend, generally in the range of 10-25millimetres.

"The highest falls were over the eastern parts of the state, with the highest total of 58mm at Falls Creek," Mr Dellamotte said.
"We saw some falls reaching up to 50mm, in the Snowy River Basin, as well as in east Gippsland."
Combienbar, in east Gippsland, recorded 43mm for the weekend.
"That station is halfway between the Great Dividing Range and the coast," Mr Dellamotte said.
Further down the coast, the Sale East station received only 6.4mm for the weekend.
"Bairnsdale received 10.5mm, so there was a little pocket in central Gippsland, which was a little drier."
After 41 days of no rain, Mildura received 11.4mm.
"Through the Mallee, 10-25mm of rain fell; Charlton received 25mm and Swan Hill 15.6mm."
He said a slow-moving cloud band, across Victoria, brought the rain and some isolated storms
The storms saw some higher rainfall pockets across the state.
Follow up falls were expected, later in the week.
"It looks like we'll see a series of cold fronts move across Victoria, this week," Mr Dellamotte said.
While it would be dry for Melbourne Cup Day, the fronts would bring showers across southern and mountain parts, with some falls of up to 20-40mm towards the end of the week,
"Friday looks the best chance of the Mallee picking up some shower activity, but it will probably be less than 10mm."
