Calls for tougher farm trespass penalties rejected

BILL REJECTED: A farm trespass bill, put forward by Eastern Victorian Upper House MP, the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party's Jeff Bourman, has been rejected by the state government, with Agriculture Minister Jaclyn Symes (right) saying it would not be right to preempt the current inquiry into animal activism.

State Parliament has rejected a private members bill, which its mover said aimed to strengthen farm trespass penalties.
