Paul Griffin has resigned as the chief executive of Food and Fibre Gippsland, three months after he was appointed to the role.
In a statement today, the organisation said Mr Griffin had resigned effective immediately due to "personal reasons".
Former East Gippsland Food Cluster chief executive Dr Nicola Watts, who has previously led the organisation in an acting capacity, has been named interim chief executive.
"On behalf of the board, chairperson Joanne Butterworth-Gray thanked Mr Griffin for his contribution to Food & Fibre Gippsland over the last three months, which has included introducing a number of new members to the industry peak body, in particular from the fibre sector," the statement read
The former banking and agribusiness executive was appointed to the role in July.
"The [Food & Fibre Gippsland] board is scheduled to meet on the 29th of October and will make further announcements after this meeting," the statement read.
The organisation was formed in March 2019 following the amalgamation of Agribusiness Gippsland and the East Gippsland Food Cluster.
Mr Griffin was contacted for comment.
