Keeping an eye on your farm just got easier with the release of a new solar-powered mobile connected live video camera.
Uniden sales executive Barry Roberts said the high definition Uniden App Cam Solo 4G was perfect for monitoring machinery, boundary fences, stock, structures and other assets.
"There are a number of applications, most people would use it for security," he said.
"The user gets a notification straight away when there is activity near the camera, they can then go live and see what is happening in real time.
"The cameras also have full audio, allowing you to listen or speak, this could be used to communicate to someone entering the property say.
"Or you can activate a siren alert as a deterrent."
Mr Roberts said the cameras could also be use as a farm management tool, monitoring water points, streaming from the auger or watching penned stock.
"Especially if they are off the farm, it saves them the trip of checking and gives a live update," he said.
Mr Roberts said the camera comes enabled for mobile connection, whether you are on a 3G, 4G or 5G signal and would run 24 hours a day with the rechargeable battery topped up on solar power throughout the day.
"It comes as a kit with a camera, rechargeable battery and solar panel, all you need to put in it is a sim-card," he said.
"As long as the carrier has cellular service in that area it is a fully standalone camera."
Mr Roberts said the camera was waterproof and could be positioned indoors or outdoors.
"It also comes with a camouflage silicon sleeve, which provides added protection," he said.
Mr Roberts said users could view footage remotely through the free Uniden Solo app, which sent intelligent alerts and push notifications whenever motion was detected.
"Captured images can be backed up in the cloud or direct onto an SD card," he said.
Mr Roberts said the camera also features a heat sensor, 110-degree wide viewing angle and night vision.
The Uniden App Cam Solo 4G Solar Panel Kit is advertised at a recommended retail price of $649.95.
