TARRAWARRA Lowlines has joined a select group of studs at today's Royal Melbourne Show, taking out all three major categories with a quality bull and cow.
Tarrawarra Lowlines stud principal Jacqui Fegan said it was a privilege to be recognised as the best Australian Lowline breeder during the cattle competition.
"She's always been a beautiful cow, a beautiful heifer and we just had to wait a while for her to develop fully," Ms Fegan said.
"She's by a great sire Colombo Park Debussy and she's bred us the most beautiful herd sire of the future so she's an amazing cow.
"She has won at a championship at a small rural show but this is her first Royal Melbourne Show award and we'll use her in our stud to breed the next line herd."
Australian Lowline judge Tom Isedale, Finley, NSW, described the supreme champion Australian Lowline as a "lovely, feminine cow".
"I love the body ... the udder on her and the calf behind her is only three months of age and that's an absolutely outstanding calf, a calf that's going to have a big future and that's what we like to see - cows that can produce equal to or better than themselves," he said.
