A positive showing of English Leicester sheep came under scrutiny at this year's Sheepvention with two Victorian studs taking the major ribbons.
Not for the first time in the show ring it was the Koenarl stud of Colin Taylor, Timboon, that finished with three of the four broad ribbons.
Koenarl came away with the champion and reserve champion ram ribbons as well as the reserve champion ewe.
Breaking the stranglehold was Vanessa and Nick Wooton's Uplands English Leicester stud, Main Ridge.
Mr Taylor is a breed stalwart with the stud first registered in 1977 - the Koenarl Southdown stud goes further back to 1955.
Mr Taylor's show credentials are littered with broad ribbons and recognition.
This year's winning ram at Sheepvention had earlier success at this year's Benalla Show in May and backed that up with grand champion ram at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show in Bendigo in July.
The Koenarl flock this year comprised 26 ewes joined.
Ms Wooton said the Uplands champion ewe was at only her second show after debuting in Bendigo - "it's very exciting".
