Excellent falls of rain across parts of Victoria in the past few days have bolstered May rains.
Rainfall totals were commonly 30 to 35 millimetres with higher totals in the north east and central ranges.
Less was received in the Riverina with Deniliquin and Finley receiving 5-12mm while Wagga Wagga measured 27mm.
Once again areas of east Gippsland again missed out with falls of 2mm in Sale and Bairnsdale.
Best served were parts of the Wimmera with Horsham copping 31mm while Charlton got 24mm. Bendigo also received good falls totaling 20mm.
Brendan Roughead whose family runs three separate properties at Bung Bong, Craigie and Clunes, measured falls of 25mm, 32mm and 36mm respectively for June 12-13.
That brought his June totals to 32mm at Bung Bong, 42mm at Craigie and more than 80mm at Clunes.
Mr Roughead said the season had turned around with the June total adding to a great May.
He said his May totals were between 120 and 150mm across the three locations.
The season was set up but spring rain would seal how well the season finished, he said.
Across the border in SA Mt Gambier measured 28mm in the past few days, while Naracoorte received 20mm.
In Tasmania Launceston had 40mm in the gauges while Smithton had 43mm.
While there are always exceptions, vast areas of Victoria have witnessed a massive about face in the season since the start of May.
A common message from the statistics was that April was extremely dry with centres like Horsham, Ouyen and Swan Hill measuring less than a millimetre for the month.
However May delivered good falls over the month with Horsham measuring 62mm, Swan Hill getting 57mm and Ouyen 38mm.
