Country Australia celebrated the 80th anniversary of Pony Club Australia (PCA) this week.
Today, 15,000 volunteers help 24,000 riders learn how to care for their ponies at 800 clubs across Australia.
Pony Club Australia chief executive Dr Catherine Ainsworth said the organisation was proud of its role in rural and regional Australia.
"Pony club is part of the community, particularly in rural areas and the urban fringe," she said.
"We're very proud of the many generations that participate as riders and volunteers.
"Pony club is all about education, leadership in young people, being active and having fun with your horse, your friends and your family."
