The Merino judging in the Cox Pavilion during the annual Sydney Royal always attracts a lot of lot of interest from supporters of the breed who have done so much to continue meeting the demands of the market and society.
It is also a place where friends catch up, discuss the events of the past year and commiserate with each other about seasonal conditions.
This year we saw the Davis family, Demondrille, Harden exhibit the supreme Merino exhibit which had been supreme Merino ram.
The McLaren family, Nerstane, Woolbrook exhibited the supreme Merino ewe topping of a great show for the New England-based stud.
They paraded the winning groups of five taking the Stonehaven Cup, Bruce Merriman Memorial and Otway Falkiner Memorial.
The Tom Culley Memorial for supreme junior Merino was awarded to the Alcock family, Bungarby.
