CHRIS and Sarah White and their family from Chiltern, Victoria, were first time vendors at last Friday’s Wodonga Blue Ribbon Weaner Sales held at the Northern Victoria Livestock Exchange (NVLX).
Offering a pen of 12 head of 313 kilogram Angus steers through Peter Ruaro-Rodwells, the White family’s draft was of Bluevale bloodlines and were weaned prior to the sale.
The quiet and well-handled autumn calves were nine to 10-months-old and sold for $980.
Running about 30 breeders Mr White said the season had been miserable on their Barambogie property at Chiltern, Vic.
“Its miserable, we are feeding a lot,” he said.
“But despite the impact of the season we were surprised with how well they weighed.”
