FIFTEEN innovative startup businesses will have the opportunity to display their ideas on a global platform at the inaugural EvokeAg agrifood technology event.
Known as ‘Startup Alley’ the space will be a dedicated area for stakeholders, investors, corporations and government to focus on and interact with the most exciting new startups in the industry.
To be held on the 19th and 20th of February 2019 in Melbourne, EvokeAg is an initiative of rural research and development corporation, AgriFutures Australia.
AgriFutures, general manager communications and capacity building, Belinda Allitt said Startup Alley gave startups an opportunity to accelerate dynamic new ideas into the market through exposure.
“We’ll have hundreds of delegates ranging from investors, entrepreneurs, researchers and government representatives from all over the world in attendance,” she said.
“Startup Alley will give participants a unique chance to showcase their ideas and innovations and network with an international audience.
“It is important that we support innovative start-ups, even in their infancy, as these will become the industries of the future.”
Ms Allitt said a selection panel would review all applications and hand pick the 15 participants to participate.
Successful applicants would be required to demonstrate they have a tangible product or service that can be exhibited, such as a prototype, product, or the ability to display their technology or idea on a screen.
Ms Allitt said in addition, five finalists from the Evoke Ag ‘Pitch Tent’ would also be awarded a display position.
Submissions for Startup Alley are open to start-ups from across the world, along with a dedicated space to showcase their products or services, successful applicants will win two tickets to the event, valued at $2,200.
Ms Allitt said online applications are now open and will close at 11.00pm (AEDT) on Friday the 30th of November 2018.
