Southern Farming Systems will hold the AgriFocus Field Day at the Inverleigh Trial Site next week.
AgriFocus is Southern Farming Systems feature annual event and promises to deliver the latest cropping systems research for southern Victorian growers, all over one big day of presentations on October 17.
Twenty different research trials relevant to high rainfall zone mixed farming systems, will be displayed and discussed by expert industry researchers and representatives.
Topics that will be up for discussion include:
- Crop variety performance of wheat
- Barley and canola under different input systems
- Use of precision planting technology to optimise crop yield
- Getting the most out of feed sources on a mixed enterprise
- Controlling weeds
- Linseed agronomy
- Nitrogen placement and efficiency
- Herbicide tolerances at different timings in various crop types
- Seed treatments
- Subsoil acidity and much more.
Presentations will be held multiple times over the day and visitors can choose their own program to suit their particular interests.

Sponsors and supporters of SFS will also have product displays to provide networking opportunities with growers, agronomists and industry representatives.
There will be lunch available to purchase on the day.

The Inverleigh trial site is located 10km west of Inverleigh on the Hamilton Highway.
Entry to AgriFocus is free for SFS members and students, non-member tickets are $30.
