The Spencer family, Yuroke, has bettered its Royal Adelaide Show Shorthorn results with a young heifer.
Luke Spencer, Spencer Family stud, Yuroke, said the 17-month-old Spry’s Carnation had tremendous volume.
“She comes around really well, covers the ground really well, she has good size but with plenty of femininity up front,” Mr Spencer said.
“We just can’t wait to take her home, calve her down and see what she can do for us, in future.”
Sprys Carnation was also sashed Junior and Grand Champion at this year’s Royal Adelaide Show.
The daughter of Royalla Rembrandt K413 is in calf to Bayview Unique.
The Grand Champion bull, Royalla Uptown N194, a 14-month-old animal, was sired by Royalla Renegade K272, out of Royalla Isobel L019.
Judge Troy Setter said the bull, also sashed Junior Champion, had great retail beef yield.
Uptown weighed 602kilograms, had a rump of nine millimetres and rib of 5mm, with an eye muscle area of 102 square centimetres.
He said in choosing the Junior bull, he took nothing away from its Senior counterpart.
“You stand behind him and in front of him, he has a huge capacity across the backline,” Mr Setter said.
“There is a heap of forequarter muscle, it follows right through, over his ribcage, down his back legs.
“There is plenty of muscle on this bull, he’s well put together and a total package.”
