Art4Agriculture has launched a national competition to encourage young people to think about pursuing a career in agriculture.
In conjunction with The Archibull Prize, the program has partnered with Career Harvest and Little Brick Pastoral, an initiative by Aimee Snowden, to get year 5-12 students to create photographs using agricultural Lego pieces.
Ms Snowden has taken photos of 10 Lego minifigures that represent different careers in agriculture, including an agribusiness banker, an agriculture teacher, an agronomist, a biosecurity officer, an engineer, a geneticist, a GIS specialist, a mechanic, a scientist, and a stock and station agent.
Students are encouraged to choose one of the characters and create an infographic that represents a day in the life or a career snapshot of the individual.
Art4Agriculture national program director Lynne Strong said the competition aims to get young people to identify their interests and the subjects they excel at, and to think about agriculture as a potential career pathway.
