Bairnsdale agents moved their fortnightly store cattle, and their Thursday fat cattle market to Tuesday, because of the Grand Final public holiday Friday.
This gave a great opportunity for Liberal Party, and State opposition leader, Matthew Guy to come to East Gippsland.
East Gippsland MP, Tim Bull, invited Matthew Guy to East Gippsland to discuss what the Liberal Party could do to assist in aiding producers in the region.
Coming to the Bairnsdale market gave Tim and Matthew a good opportunity to catch up with some of the producers.
Matthew Guy asked what the Government could do to assist producers, away from what has already been put into place, now that East Gippsland has been declared officially in drought.
One suggestion was to address the "Low hanging fruit”, as some of these issues can build up and add to already identified larger issues.
