Visitors to Elmore Field Days will enjoy a range of activities and displays across the three days.
The field days has 5800 square metres of undercover space showcasing a variety of exhibits from machinery to alternative energy, education facilities to construction, motor vehicles to professional services.
IN THE SHED
Visitors can learn about wool handling, shearing and pressing during a program of daily events in the Shearing Shed.
- 10am: Presentation on Sheep Nutrition: Feeding in Tough Times
- 10.30am: Shearing/Wool Handling Demonstrations
- 11am: Presentation on Sheep Nutrition: Feeding in Tough Times
- 11.45am: Overview: Ewes for the Future Trial
- 12.20pm: Spot On Vaccination Presentation
- 12.30pm: Shearing in the Past, including blade shearing
- 2.30pm: Shearing/Wool Handling Demonstration
- The Shearing Teams Ewes for the Future Trial is on daily at 9.30am, 10.45am, 1.30pm and 2.45pm.
GENERAL DISPLAYS
Heritage Draught Horse Club will conduct various demonstrations near the Shearing Shed.
Head to site 427 to see the Reptile Awareness Display to learn about the various types of snakes found in Australia and how to manage snake bites.
Ag Art Wear Parades are held daily at 11am and 2pm. The final will be at 2pm on Thursday in the Auditorium.
The Berkley Supertank, at site 186, gives you a fish eye view. This spectacular 15-metre long and 3m high perspex-sided giant mobile fish tank harbours natural habitat and loads of fish.
Luke Harrington will perform live music on all three days near Food Court 5.
The George Holmberg Pavilion houses the General Interest Area indoor and outside. Exhibitors demonstrate commercial goods, cottage industry, handcrafts and clothing.
Lockington and District Heritage Centre display vintage tractors, including Bulldog and Massey Harris, at site 296B.
The Recreation and Leisure Area, between two water features, exhibits boating, camping, fishing and clothing.
FOR CHILDREN
Get the face painted at site 638 and grab fairy floss while there.
Narelle Stone is one of Victoria's favourite librarians and an amateur actor who delights in entertaining children. She will perform in the Auditorium daily at 12.30pm.
A balloon twister will rove around the site.
Head to site 638 for free craft activities, and Bendigo Woodturners demonstrations. The WICKED (Waste In Campaspe, Know, Educate, DO) will run kids’ activities on the Tuesday.
There will be three jumping castles – at 638 and 582 and Triple M sites.
Camel Rides are new new to the field days. Children under 115cm must ride with an adult.
