BUYERS travelled from as far the Northern Territory and Western Australia to attend Paringa Livestock’s on-property spring bull sale, Yea, where 30 Angus and composite yearling bulls were sold.
The top-priced Angus yearling bull achieved an upset price of $10,000 and was sold privately at the conclusion of the helmsman auction. Of the 38 bulls offered, 30 were sold for a $5100 average.
Sired by TCA Visionary 158, the top-priced bull, Paringa Visionary N71, fetched $10,000 and went to Boorook Partners, Mortlake. The bull was ranked in the top one per cent with calving ease to growth sires, as well as “extreme marbling” as represented by his impressive individual data and genomic statistics in the sale catalogue.
The next top of $7500 was hit twice for two Angus bulls, first was local Peter Ingham, The Grange, Murrindindi, for Paringa Visionary N93, and Nick and Sophie Allen, Boorook Partners, Mortlake, for Paringa Visionary N95.
The Grange general manager Shane Creed, Murrindindi, purchased the bull for its overall appeal both visually and structurally, as well as the bull’s excellent outstanding breeding values.
Sired by a leading dominant bull in the Paringa Livestock herd, Visionary N93, recorded highly productive genetics with high scores for calving ease, growth, feed, carcase and phenotype.
The Grange also bought another bull, Angus Paringa Sunrise N82, for $4000.
