Fairfax Agricultural Media photographer Laura Ferguson was recognised with a highly commended award for Photographer of the Year at the 2018 Rural Press Club Journalism and Photography Awards.
Ms Ferguson began working for Stock & Land during the Mountain Calf Sales in March, and has since snapped countless front page photos.
She was blown away with the recognition, saying she had never taken home an accolade of this honour before.

Stock & Land journalist Andrew Miller also scored a highly commended shout out for his story Turmoil at Australia's biggest dairy farm raises issues about role of Foreign Investment Review Board.
It was recognised by the judges as being a detailed investigation into the role of the FIRB in the agricultural landscape, with a focus on a specific example.
