Tough seasonal conditions in much of the catchment area did not deter wool growers from turning out for the second day of the 2018 Gippsland Merino Field Days.
Good numbers of wool and sheep growers from across large areas of Gippsland as well as the north-east and western Victoria made the trip to studs.
The stud breeders were commended by visitors for the presentation of their sheep under difficult seasonal conditions in the region.
The studs opening their doors today, Tuesday, were Alan and Jason Stewart, Stockton Merino Stud, Bairnsdale, John Freeman, The Fringe Merino Stud, Briagalong, and Steve and Lisa Harrison, Bindawarra Merino Stud, Giffard West.
On the first day three studs north of Bairnsdale opened to the public comprising Kelvin and Jackie Pendergast, Pendarra Merino and Poll Merino stud, Benambra, Bert and Brendan AhSam, Round Hill Merino stud, Omeo, and Doug and Hugh Pemberton, Nicholson River Merino Stud, Nicholson.
