Tough seasonal conditions in much of the catchment area did not deter wool growers from turning out for the two-day Gippsland Merino Field Days.
Good numbers of wool and sheep growers from across large areas of Gippsland, as well as the north-east and western Victoria, made the trip to studs.
Those opening their doors on day one were Kelvin and Jackie Pendergast, Pendarra Merino and Poll Merino stud, Benambra, Bert and Brendan AhSam, Round Hill Merino stud, Omeo and Doug and Hug Pemberton, Nicholson River Merino Stud, Nicholson.
The studs en Tuesday were Alan and Jason Stewart, Stockton Merino Stud, Bairnsdale, John Freeman, The Fringe Merino Stud, Briagalong, and Steve and Lisa Harrison, Bindawarra Merino Stud, Giffard West.
The field day was an ideal time to see the various ram teams destined for sales in coming months as well as catching up with fellow wool and sheep producers and service providers.
