Central Goldfields Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after wool bales worth more than $14,000 were allegedly stolen from a property at Bears Lagoon last month.
It is alleged 12 bales of wool were stolen from Lagoona Road on 22 April and 24 April.
A 25-year-old Daylesford man has been charged with burglary and theft.
He will appear at the Maryborough Magistrates’ Court on June 28.
First Constable Brendan McManus, Central Goldfields Criminal Investigation Unit, said investigations were continuing on the theft of four bales from a property at Strathlea and an attempted theft from a shed at Moolort.
He said farmers and rural property owners needed to look out for themselves and their neighbours.
He said farmers were often complacent about security around farms.
He called on farmers to report thefts as soon as possible.
