McLanahan to distribute complete livestock effluent system

WITH a passion for innovation and their usual focus on products that are robust and reliable, global supplier McLanahan Corporation, has released a complete system for managing pasture based livestock effluent.

The new system reaps the benefit of the company’s 20 plus years’ of experience in dairy effluent systems and more than 180 years of designing and building resource processing equipment. 

The McLanahan Enviro System efficiently deals with effluent from saleyards and dairy operations, handling the entire process from the initial capture through to separation and solids stockpile.

Designed in Australia and using proven technology, the system is serviced by experienced technicians.

“We are excited to be making the Enviro System available Australia and New Zealand wide for the first time,” McLanahan director of sales and marketing, Chris Knowles said.

Fully-automated, the Enviro System reduces unnecessary time and effort handling effluent traps, ponds and spillages.

Developed with the operator in mind, the system incorporates features including filtration, self-cleaning and easy access for maintenance.

“The technology has been tested on 20 sites (both farms and stock yards) over several years,” Mr Knowles said.

Like McLanahan’s existing Sand Manure Separators, Liquid Solid Separators and Rotary Bedding Dryers, The Enviro System helps farmers effectively deal with effluent by turning it into usable dry manure to use as a biologically active soil amendment for regeneration of topsoil and leaving the nutrient rich green water available for irrigation.

“Today, manure management is one of the challenging issues that dairy farmers face,” said McLanahan agriculture sales specialist, Neil Treseder.

“To meet environmental regulations, obtain permits for expansion and be a responsible neighbour, farmers need to manage manure flows and capture water.”

The Enviro System will be available in two sizes: the Enviro 400 System designed for up to 400 cows or the Enviro 2000 System, suitable for herds between 400 and 2000 cows.

“Our aim is to deliver automation and systems that relieve time-poor farmers from managing waste so they can concentrate on food production,” Mr Knowles said.

The Enviro System will be available in Australia and New Zealand from May 2018.
