VETERANS, soldiers, cadets, school children and community groups were among the thousands who participated in the Anzac Day parade in Thuringowa this morning.
It was a new route for the march, which this year stepped off from Weir State School to make its way to the relocated Cenotaph at Riverway.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing, with the lead vehicle stalling before the parade got underway, but true to the Aussie spirit, a few blokes attempted to get it rolling with a push start.
Veteran Keith Reynolds, shook hands with driver Tony Sproule, before jumping in a back-up vehicle and it was all systems go.
A morning service and wreath laying ceremony was held at the Riverway Cenotaph following the march.
