DEAD wallabies were discovered in a freezer at a remote property west of Townsville during a police drug bust.
Officers from the Charters Towers Major and Organised Crime Squad Rural made the discovery after executing a search warrant on April 10.
They found a number of cannabis plants, steroids, a rifle silencer and knuckle dusters.
Police said a number of “deceased macropods” were also located within a freezer on the property.
A 40-year old man was charged producing a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawfully keeping native wildlife.
Police said it was an offence to take, keep and/or use native animals without authority under the Nature Conservation Act.
