*19 of 19 bulls sold to $7000, av $5210
Buyers from as far afield as Young, NSW, joined with strong local support to propel prices at Francs Angus inaugural bull sale to a top of $7000.
Vendors Nick Franc and partner Faye Clark, Carranballac, put forward 19 bulls for the first auction sale and finished with a 100 per cent clearance and average of $5210.
Buyer of the top priced lot was Neb-Pak, Newlyn, who paid $7000 for lot four, Koornang Park M4 a February 2016 drop bull by Carabar Docklands D62.
Second top for the day was $6500 paid for Koornang Park Francs M53 bought by KP Maher and Sons. The bull was an August 2016 drop sired by Witherswood Henry J0103.
Young, NSW, based Bickley Park purchased two lots including lot 3, Koornang Park M28, a March 2016 drop bull sired by Witherswood Andy for $6000. The same buyer paid $5500 for Koornang Park M13 another March 2016 drop bull sired by the US sire SAV Angus Valley.
Lot 1 also sold for $6000 bid by N & W Ead. The bull was Koornang M20 and sired by Witherswood Andy.
Another bull to reach $6000 was Koornang Park Francs, an August 2016 drop bull purchased by the Grant Family Trust.
Norm Suckling purchased two bulls, paying up to $6000 for lot 5, Koornang Park M9. The bull was a March 2016 drop sired by SAV Angus Valley 1867. The same buyer paid $5500 for Koornang Park Francs M48 by Witherswood Henry JO103.
Koornang Park Francs M58 is bound for Carisbrook after P & R Cain paid $5000 for the August 2016 drop bull. It was sired by Witherswood Henry J0103. Also reaching the $5000 mark was the final lot of the sale, Koornang Park Francs M81. The bull went to MD Robinson.
Mr Franc said the decision to sell bulls at an on-property sale was give all clients an equal chance of buying the bull of their choice.
