After its grandly supported first store market in early February, the month-old WVLX saleyards at Mortlake will welcome a further 2000 head for its next store sale on Thursday, March 8, starting at 10am.
WVLX agents president Bruce Redpath said while the advertised numbers are expected to increase further due to the deteriorating season, a good representation of grown and weaner steers, joined and unjoined females are already in the book from many of the district’s noted breeders.
Of note is the 800 or so 12-18-month-old yearling-off and grown cattle suited for feedlot entry. Vendor Kilkenny, will yard 60 Angus steers and 50 Angus heifers, 15-18 months while Tomich Pastoral has 110 Euro-Angus steers, 12-13 months.
