Prices at the Hamilton store ewe sale were firm, with two and a half year old cross breds achieving $206, in a yarding of about 2000 sheep.
LMB Livestock’s Bernie Grant said the there was a small number of one and a half year old ewes, with older sheep selling to firm rates.
One and a half year old ewes sold to $189, while Salamanca Pastoral Trust two and a half year olds went for up to $206.
The Salamanca Coopworth/Corriedale cross, August-September 2015 drop ewes, topped the market. Landmark’s Tim Jewell said Waratana one and a half year old composite ewes, Yarram Park bld, sold to $186.
Landmark also offered Newlyn Pastoral first cross, South Australian bred ewe lambs, which sold for $190 to a Hamilton buyer.
