It is hard to imagine what next week will feel like.
For the first time in seven years I will not have a weekly print deadline at a Fairfax Media publication, whether it be at Farm Weekly in Western Australia, or Stock & Land here in Victoria.
If you haven’t guessed it already, this is will be my final edition as the editor of this proud publication.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the masthead since moving across the Nullarbor four years ago, starting as a stud stock sales representative before taking on the editor’s role in 2015.
During that time, Stock & Land has undergone a massive transformation internally, moving to a new operating system and creating greater efficiencies for the business.
But one thing has held true – which I am proud to say we have never wavered from – and that is our commitment to our readers.
Through my team of experienced journalists and market analysts, we have continued to strive to be your number one source of agricultural news and market information to help you drive your farm business.
Our strength in market information, driven by the experience of Murray Arnel and Peter Kostos, continues to be the heart and soul of the publication, and will continue to be the masthead’s core strength into the future.
Over the past few years, Stock & Land has pushed to be a more ‘rounded’ product, and expanded our offering of news and market content in other commodity areas such as water and grains, while also growing our property and machinery sections and that will continue to improve.
The masthead is now in a strong position moving forward.
I would like to thank the many individuals, groups and organisations I have dealt with over the years and thank them for their support.
I would like to thank the team at Stock & Land who have also held true to those values and continued to put the readers first and have always been honest and hardworking for the benefit of the publication.
Lastly, I would like to thank the readers.
I thank you for your loyalty to the publication and for your valued feedback.
We might not always get it right, but I am proud to say we have always done our best to bring you the highest of quality news and information that matters to you.
Thank you.
