Victorian grain farmers are off to one of the best starts in recent years, but it’s set to get even better if forecasts for general rain late this week are realised.
Soaking rains in late April and several weeks of fine weather has allowed farmers to make big inroads into planting 2017 crops. Progress varies between regions, but many Mallee farmers have already got upwards of half of their crops seeded.
