DAJORY: Josh and Carolyne McCrae at the new home of Dajory Murray Greys, Congupna, a former horse property. The Concorde Park property allowed the McCraes to show off their females, and 12-18 month old stud bulls, to best advantage.

DAJORY: The McRaes relocated to a new property, Concorde Park, just before Beef Week. The former horse property had ready made yards, in which the McRaes were able to show off their Murray Greys to best advantage.

INVERLEIGH: Stud principal Stu Cameron was proud to show of Luvaboy Lionel, one of the young Simmental stud bulls, on display at the Invergordon property. The 17 month old son of Evron was paraded at the Numurkah show, last October.

MOUNT MAJOR: The Dookie Murray Grey stud attracted a steady stream of visitors on Day Six. Among those who came along, and bought bulls, were this group, Damian Janssens, Cobram, Peter Hamilton, Corowa, stud principal Brett Davidson and Martin Pratt, Longwood.

RUPARI: The Burramine stud, run by Greg and Linden Roberts, has recently branched into Black d'Aquitaines. Previously the stud sold Rupari Joiner d'Poll for a world record price of $50,000.

MURRABAH: Father and son team Malcolm and Rob Randall displayed their Angus and Saler cattle, as part of Day Six. The Tocumwal stud had weaners and heifers, as well as PTIC cows and stud bulls on display.

MURRABAH: Malcolm an Rob Randall were keen to show the quiet temperament of their Saler cattle, as part of the Beef Week open day. at their Tocumwal property.


WYNYARD: Finley, New South Wales stud, Wynyard, attracted good interest in its Shorthorns, stud principal Peter Mills said. 

MYSTICAL: Fresh from the sale of a bull Robert Pell said the market's desire for restocking was good news. "This is probably the best Beef Week yet," he said. "The market is really very buoyant and you are getting worthwhile returns for your stock. And generally people are trying to restock now," he said.

SOUTHERNLAND: It's the first time the Hoopell family has had a crack at Beef Week but it has already paid off. Hamish Hoopell sold a few of his Simmental bulls.  "We've been really happy with the enquirers," his father Tony said.


CARLSRUHE: Farming is a family affair for brothers Ethan and Xavier Hooppell. Father Tony was keeping an eye on a dispersal in Yarrawonga with the hopes of picking up a few more females."We were very happy with today's enquiries and we have a few bulls up for sale in March," he said.


LINCOLN PARK: For Lincoln Park's Jacinta Taylor the market is exactly where it should be. "You can spend a bit more on infrastructure and have a bit more cash than living hand to mouth," she said. Last year the Santa Gertrudis farmer had a good year, selling lots of bulls, many of them locally.

MERRIDALE: Peter Collin's Beef Week was off to a busy start. The Merridale Angus stud farmer was seeing plenty of interest in his stock ahead of a sale day on Friday March 10. That will include a yearling bull (not pictured) which will be one of the first bulls sired in Australia by US bull Tour of Duty.

"He's probably 600kg and structurally correct. Yeah, he's the real deal," Mr Collins said.
