Steers to $1940

PRICES of Bairnsdale store cattle keep going higher and higher, especially for heifers. Notwithstanding that feedlot buyers at Leongatha on Thursday missed out to restockers, some of them arrived in Bairnsdale on Friday to fill their orders.
Like the previous day, there were plenty of farmers competing for livestock and that, along with the large contingent of buyers, pushed competition to remain firm.
There were drafts of quality cattle in Friday’s market, along with some plainer animals that still returned good prices.
