Dunromin, Jindera, sold 14 Hereford steers, 487kg, for $1485, and IR&JE Allan, Whorouly, 61 Hereford steers, 438kg, for $1455. Selling for the equivalent of 305 and 335c/kg liveweight was a very good result.

Most of the yearling steers sold between $1100 and the top price with most sales equalling a range of liveweight prices from 300-351c/kg. Ginnivan & McGowan, Indigo Valley, sold 31 Angus steers from $1285-$1430, Royston Park, Violet Town, 38 Angus steers $1435-$1450. Many of these yearling steers went for grain feeding.

Younger steers sold very well with many quoting a dearer sale, and the results did reflect some of this. Many of the steers showed good breeding and sold between $910 and $1240. The steers weighing over 300kgs lwt, sold for the equivalent of 330-355c.

LT&CE Briggs, Cudgewa, sold 25 Angus steers from $1030-$1240. Paddle & Hodgkin, Khancoban, sold 40 Angus steers from $1025-$1190.

Few larger lines of steers came forward now that the major sales have finished, and seasonal conditions have improved.
