Victorian farmers who were the victims of the tragic bushfires are to receive donated stockfeed from an alliance of ABB Grain and Ridley Agriproducts.
ABB has donated $50,000 of grain which Ridley will mill into Rumenite ruminant pellets for distribution into fire-affected areas to feed surviving stock.
Processed pellets will be distributed through the Victorian Farmers’ Federation feed relief program so it reaches areas where it’s needed most.
ABB managing director, Michael Iwaniw, said it was important for the two companies to assist in a practical way.
"No one, other than those affected, can begin to comprehend the devastating impact the bushfires have had on people’s lives," Mr Iwaniw said.
"By taking this cooperative initiative with Ridley, we hope to remove some of the stress and worry they’re going through, so that fire victims can focus on other aspects of their rebuilding phase."
ABB will be responsible for transporting the grain to Ridley’s Dandenong mill.
After processing, Ridley will arrange logistics for getting the product to central distribution points.
