
Composite ewes to $120 at Hamilton
With a strong sniff of rain in the air, last Thursday, southwest prime lamb producers were keen for a yarding of 5000 breeding ewes offered at Hamilton.
Prices for composite ewes, aged three and four years, scanned in lamb, ranged from $88 to $120 a head, while older age composite ewes, '02/'03-drop, also scanned in lamb, made $84-$94.50.
A line of rising three- and four-year-old Merryville-blood Merino ewes, depastured to Poll Dorset rams, made $49- $59.50.
