
Crossbred ewes with lambs to $216 at Wycheproof
Top-end prices soared above expectation at the Elders Wycheproof store sheep sale on Friday, highlighted by a line of three year-old crossbred ewes with 130 percent of marked young lambs at foot that made to $216 a head.
The line of 140 Border Leicester Merino-cross and its 180 White Suffolk lambs drew sustained interest after bidding commenced at $160.
Buyers from a broad area of western Victoria and southeast South Australia attended the 7000 head yarding, which saw unjoined crossbred ewe weaners sold to $154 and unjoined Merino ewes top at $137.
