ATTEMPTS to correct an ''appalling'' performance on water policy will begin this morning, when the Brumby Government tries to win back the people of northern Victoria with a 50-year water strategy.
Publication of the strategy comes just weeks after a Saulwick poll found country voters believed Labor had done an appalling job on water policy.
The strategy reveals Victoria's stance on a host of Murray River issues, and will declare that protection of existing water entitlements will be a critical issue.
The strategy vows to enhance the licensing of dams on farms - subject to a review by Water Minister Tim Holding.
