ANOTHER member of the Melbourne establishment Baillieu family has sold off rural property holdings.
Joanna Baillieu and her partner Neil Griffin have sold their mixed farming property, North Toolburra, outside Warwick in Queensland, for more than $10 million, according to The Australian Financial Review.
It follows the sale of Anthony Baillieu's Mt Elephant Station for more than $20 million to Swedish Count Carl Gustav Wachmeister earlier this year. Mr Baillieu, second cousin of Victorian Opposition Leader Ted Baillieu, continued farming on his other rural property.
This latest sale is a shot in the arm for the lacklustre rural market in Queensland, where trophy hobby farms and large commercial operations are struggling to find buyers.
The 1000 hectare North Toolburra farm with palatial 1850s homestead, guest accommodation and manager's house, was sold to cattle breeder Jim Wedge and Jackie Chard from Ascot Charolais.
