PREMIUM Richmond district properties Pialah and Cassilis will be offered at auction in Townsville on Wednesday, April 4.
Vendors have had a long association with these properties of over 90 years, and inspection will show the quality of their well-managed EU-accredited Beefmaster herd and high standard of improvements.
Both properties have been stocked conservatively with paddock spelling and pasture improvement programs allowing native grasses to establish and regenerate.
Pialah of 35,000 hectares (87,266 acres) is situated 94km north of Richmond and has a new 40-year lease. Country is shaded black soil broken downs to softwood scrubs to gidyea-boree, and enjoys an average annual rainfall of 625mm (24 in).
Pialah has 11 shallow bores, mills, turkeys nests, submersibles, jet pump, plus two shared bores, six large permanent water holes and a pipeline to four paddocks from the house bore.
Pialah is a very well-watered property with access points mostly within 2.5km and uniform concrete troughs and aprons throughout. Water points all have steel frame- covered lick sheds.
There are seven main breeding paddocks and seven weaning/holding paddocks. The majority of the fencing is of recent construction and of 4mm x 1.8mm barb four-to-one steel-to-gidyea with well-constructed steel end assemblies. The property is very well watered by nine non-flowing, artesian bores with big supplies and seven permanent dams.
There are 30 turkey nests with storages of 150,000 to 500,000 gallons, all with uniform troughs, and aprons make for an attractive grazing range of mostly 2km.
Cassilis is divided into 12 grazing paddocks and five holding paddocks with 80 percent of fencing renewed in the past 10 years with mainly 4mm x 1.8mm barb with railway strainers and quality steel end assemblies.
A lovely modern homestead is in an established lawn and garden surrounds. The four-bedroom, lowset double ensuites, air-conditioned homestead was erected in 2008 with office/school room, large interior refrigerator/cold room, and attached large concreted front verandah area.
