COMPETITION between sheepdogs and sheep continued to be intense yesterday at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show.
The Victorian Arena Championships is a three-sheep sheepdog contest.
Adam James and Australia's Ultimate Stock Dog, Tundabardi Buster, competed in the Encourage event and won ahead of Peter Bromley and Gypsy (second) and Mark Fagan with Altmore Nell in third place.
The third and fourth rounds of the Improver and Open championships continued on Saturday, with some creditable scores on the board against tough sheep.
Susan Young scored 83 points with her border collie, Granan Claire; and working with Ashen's Nell, scored 70 points.
John Tuddenham and his border collie, Morgans Eddy, are in contention for the final, scoring 79 points.
Jim Dodge followed up his good performance on Friday with a 76 scored with his border collie, Paton's Slim.
