SUPERHEROES fill our big screens, however a new operating concept for trailed sprayers may make a small screen the hero of the day.
Boasting an all new control centre and innovative boom guidance system, the Amazone UX01 Super series of trailed sprayers promise increased comfort, efficiency and precision.
Claas Harvest Centre, product manager, Craig Hopkins said the series is available with tank volumes of 6,200, 5,200 and 4,200 litres.
While Super-L2 booms range from 27 to 40 metres.
Mr Hopkins said an optional feature available on the Super series was the “Comfort-Pack plus” terminal.
The terminal provides automatic control of agitation intensity, fill stop function, boom rinsing, line cleaning, tank cleaning and tank-mix dilution through a touchscreen.
“The user just selects the desired function and the sprayer adjusts itself automatically,” he said.
“The operator just has to couple the hose and the machine will automatically fill the spray tank and fresh water rinse tank up to the desired tank fill levels.”
Mr Hopkins said the new series featured sleek European styling and smart functionality.
“One of the most striking features of the UX01 Super are the grey covers on either side of the sprayer,” he said.
“Underneath the left-hand cover is the SmartCenter, which hosts the operator station, induction bowl, fill ports and two dustproof storage compartments.
“Under the right-hand cover is an additional 240 L lockable storage compartment with removable shelf.
“Both covers swing upwards to allow easy filling and operation.”
Me Hopkins said all operations on the sprayer were controlled using a seven-way pressure tap.
“This allows each function to be easily selected without having to open or close separate circuits,” he said.
“Once the desired function is selected, the relevant valve for the corresponding circuit opens.
“It also means the fresh water rinse tank can be topped up whilst the sprayer is being filled.”
Mr Hopkins said the 60 L induction bowl was located directly underneath the control valves and the conical shape, centralised aperture and 200 L/minute suction capacity ensured a quick, trouble-free filling and complete emptying.
An additional mixing nozzle positioned underneath the suction aperture, which Mr Hopkins said, prevents blockages when inducting powders or granular products.
The UX01 Super series also feature an optional steering axle, capable of a minimum turning radius of 4.5 m.
Mr Hopkins said all booms can be controlled using the electro-hydraulic Profi-folding system in conjunction with the automatic DistanceControl or DistanceControl Plus or the new ContourControl vertical boom movement and SwingStop yaw prevention systems.
When used in conjunction with ContourControl boom control, the Super series feature the new Flex-fold system for rapid folding.
In Australia, Amazone farm machinery is distributed by the Claas Harvest Centre network.
