F&R Caponechia is a name that is difficult to pronounce, but seen regularly at the annual Wodonga calf sales.
A coveted Elders client, the Caponechia family will be offering 90 mixed sex Angus calves on Friday, January 5.
The Caponechia Angus herd is by Glenara and Jarobee bloodlines, and they have used Jarobee and Witherswood bulls.
To aid the calves health, Pilliguard was used to prevent Pink Eye, and they were vaccinated with 2x5-in-1.
A regular drenching program have been kept too.
Stephen Street, Elders Myrtleford, said combined with good animal husbandry, breeding and a very good season, these 9-10 month old calves should weigh in a range of 300-340 kilograms live weight.
Being quiet to handle should increase their competition.
Their suitability to fatten could put them in the hands of produces and feedlot companies.
The breeding of the heifers my increase competition for the older heifers of the draft.
Drafted into suitable lines, these steers and heifers can be found in the Elders pens on sale day.
