Buyer demand was stepped a gear at the Elders Wycheproof October sale on Friday when 16,500 store sheep met strong inquiry from a large and eager gallery.
Interest in crossbred young ewes was again high with best lines sold to a sale high $265 while Merino young ewe sales topped at $218, with six further sales completed above $200 a head.
A sale highlight was a March shorn line of four year-old ewes sold at $238 a head while two pens of 15-drop wethers, in full wool, made to $188 a head and were returned to the paddock.
Sales of 17-drop wethers completed the sale with most sold from $111 to $129 a head as a strong gallery of processors fought it out with restockers.
