Early forecasted widespread rain has brought varying results for North Queensland as patchy rain continues.
A south west upper low combined with a trough off the east coast, has caused instability and widespread showers and thunderstorms in south east Queensland and is now moving north up the coast.
In the last 24 hours, communities along the east coast have recorded diverse amounts.
Proserpine only received 6.6 millimetres and continuing north Bowen received 8mm, Ayr 38mm, Collinsville 38mm, Burdekin Dam 15mm, Townsville 20mm, Cardwell 10mm, Tully 21mm, Mt Garnett 17mm, Friels Road Teak Plant 39mm, Cairns 3mm, Lakeland Downs 60mm, Georgetown 34mm and Croydon 20mm.
Tomorrow (Wednesday October 18) showers are expected to continue around the Townsville area with 100 per cent chance of 50 to 90mm expected.
Thursday October 19, showers will continue with 80 per cent chance of 10 to 30mm.
It will start to dry out on Friday with mostly sunny conditions continuing into the weekend.
