September-shorn, black-tag, 16-drop young ewes again met strong demand in the Riverina making to a sale high $252 a head at Jerilderie on Friday.
The market-toppers were a line of 434 offered Hugh and Heather Cameron, The Yanko while six other noted Riverina sheep breeders also collected sales from $200 to next best sale of $240 a head.
The Cameron family's market toppers won for them for the first time the John Wells Memorial shield: a hotly contested trophy among local breeders for the best priced young ewe line.
