THERE was an increased number of exhibitors at the 136th Ballarat Sheep Show, held on Sunday.
Coryule Merino stud, Willowvale, took out supreme champion sheep, with their grand champion Merino ewe.
Stud manager Craig Trickey said the ewe had a beautiful fleece, and big-barrelled body.
“The judge was impressed by how proud she stood, she holds herself really well,” Mr Trickey said.
“We were over the moon with the win.”
Grand champion ram was taken out by Wurrook Merino stud, Rokewood.
In the ultrafines, grand champion ram was won by Mt Challicum Merino stud, Ararat, and grand champion ewe was won by Beverley Merino stud, Kyneton.
In the superfines, grand champion ram was won by Wurrook, and grand champion ewe was taken out by Montrose Hill Merino stud, Illabarook.
The fine wool grand ram and ewe grand champions were both won by Coryule.
The medium wool grand champion ram was won by Glenpaen Merino and Poll Merino stud, Brimpaen, and grand champion ewe won by Coryule.
