Rural women will come together to help raise funds for Ovarian Cancer research at the fifth annual Rural Women Uncovered event.
The event, spearheaded by the Victorian Farmers Federation, aims to encourage delegates to celebrate their connections to regional Victoria, and will focus on creating healthy business practices through the use of stories, home-grown women inspiring their communities and the influence of voice.
The event, on Thursday September 14 at Creswick, guest speakers will include online marketing coach, blogger, author and TedX speaker Sandy McDonald.
Another special guest will be NSW Rural Women finalist Hayley Purbrick, whose work is empowering smaller communities to think outside the square and adopt an innovative approach in managing the every changing landscape of farming.
AgTech entrepreneur Ros Harvey, will also share her insights.
“The simple fact is rural women have to be many things – farmers, financial wizards, trade negotiators, marketers and sometimes health care workers,” Ms McDonald said.
“That’s why the Rural Women Uncovered event is structured to help women boost their knowledge and skills across these diverse roles.”
Delegates to the event will learn about the power of stories, encouraged to share theirs, and given advice on the changes they can make in their own communities.
The event, which includes a themed high tea, will culminate in an evening celebration over local produce, strengthening discussions around the day’s activities.
