A new partnership has been forged between Agriculture Victoria and an Israeli agtech company AgriTask.
Victorian Agriculture Minister Jaala Pulford has announced a Memoranda Of Understanding (MOU) with AgriTask, which will see the development of a new farm management and decision support tool for Victorian farmers.
“This is an exciting opportunity to learn from world-renowned pioneers in agricultural innovation about how we can capitialise on our growing food and fibre industry,” Ms Pulford said.
AgriTask is an Israeli based agtech company comprised of agronomists and software experts, which has developed a versatile agriculture business intelligence and decision support platform.
AgriTask chair Mr Israel Fraier said he was pleased the company was able to collaborate with leading agronomic scientists, in Australia.
“We are looking forward to cooperating with the business ecosystem in Victoria for serving Australia’s needs and other neighbouring agriculture economies,” Mr Fraier said.
The new tool will enable farmers to immediately benefit from precision agronomy while continuing to use their present work methods.
The world leading technology integrates data from a number of sources into a comprehensive mobile and web solution, to enable better decision-making on farms and along the supply chain from paddock to plate.
The new technology allows agronomists and managers to easily manage large and remote areas of diverse crops in varying growth conditions, react in real time and help farmers secure the yield, while saving on resources and the environment.
Based on comprehensive agronomic data analysis, AgriTask assists farmers by providing key advice and support on irrigation, pest and disease detection, crop nutrition, and tactical decision making in response to weather.
The new collaboration will enable the sharing of information between Agriculture Victoria and AgriTask.
Ms Pulford said the MOU would help to adapt the agronomic platform to suit Australian farming systems.
