The McRae family, Oakbank, has won the Victorian Merino Pair with a strong wool ram and ewe.
While Oakbank has won the title before, Warren McRae said it was the first time they had done so with a Poll pair.
Both sheep from the St Arnaud stud are two years-old, upstanding and with an impressive cover of strong wool.
Judge Wes Daniell, from White River Merino stud at Minnipa in South Australia, said they stood up beautifully, had a good top line, and rich, white wool.
The ram, which won the supreme title at the Hay Merino Sheep Show last month, has fleece measurements of 21.6 micron, 3.1 standard deviation (SD), 14.4 co-efficient of variation (CV) and 99.5 comfort factor (CF).
The ewe measured 20.6M, 3.1 SD, 15.0 CV and 99.6 CF.
Mr McRae said he planned to retain the ram in the stud, where he hoped it would perform as well as its sire had.
The Walton family, Wurrook, Rokewood, won the reserve Victorian Pair.
