A yarding of 2772 head was presented at Gracemere on June 16, comprising of 1298 steers, 1115 heifers, 304 cows, 26 x 26 cows and calves and 28 bulls.
Quality was mixed in but generally very good. The cattle came from the local area along with lines from West of Clermont, Collinsville and Moranbah.
Most regular buyers were present and kept the light cattle and calves up to recent prices. Some of the heavy lines and slaughter cattle were a little easier on last week’s rates.
Greenlake Station, Rossmoya, sold a run 476 Brahman cross weaner steers to top at 442c and average 175kg to return $750 They also sold a run of 309 Brahman cross weaner heifers to top at 338c to weigh 167kg to return $557.
Harry Walker, Gogango, sold Droughtmaster weaner steers to top at 398c, weighing 251kg to return $999.
M&J Stanke, Dalma, sold weaner steers to top at 380c to weigh 304kg to return $1156. G&L Ohl, Baralaba, sold steers for 294c weighing 394kg to return $1159.
Galloway Plains Past Co sold 284kg Brahman, No.6 steers for 340c or $965.
Gifford Graz, Seaforth, sold VGQ Droughtmaster, No.7 steers at 390c weighing 248kg to return $970. The heifers account of the same vendor topped at 350c.
JF&CA Ellrott, Urannah Station, Collinsville, sold Braford cross, No5 steers to 317c to average 310c or $1141.
